Another Important Part of the Fellowes 300PH Air Purifier

When one buys an air purifier one must be prepared to buy replacement filters as needed. According to the instructions I'll need to replace the charcoal filter after about three months. As of now the original charcoal filter is still in place and seems to be doing the job. The installation of the original was simple and straightforward so I anticipate no problem with this replacement when it is needed.I have been generally pleased with the AP 300PH Air Purifier by Fellowes; we use it every night in our bedroom to stir up the breeze. We had been using a regular fan but it stirred up the dust as well and left me frequently congested in the mornings. The dust allergy problem seems to have been solved by this air purifier.

Great unit for home use.

This product has worked well for our family. We purchased three (2 large and 1 small) of the Fellowes air cleaning units with replacement filters. We would recommend this this product to anyone looking for purer air quality in the home or office.

Nice air purifier

Haven't had the chance to test this yet, air purifier came with one, seems to be working well. I have severe allergies, especially at night and I must say that I have suffered much less since we got the air purifier, it is also very quiet, even in high mode.

Revived my old Biotech/Bionaire!

I have a small, really old BIOTECH (Bionaire) air "purifier" which I had sitting on the shelf...almost gave up on using it again until I ran across this filter which fits! I also bought the charcoal foam, large size, which had to be cut; no problem there though. Amazingly, the thing has cleared out the mildew smell on my seasonally musty enclosed porch, and keeps the air nice and fresh. I run it on low, 24/7, with "ions" turned on. I did drag some sandpaper over the ion needle, which looked kinda rusty. But otherwise just flipped open the grates and stuck in the 2 filters. How great to be able to revive the old machine to be of such worthy use. Thanks for carrying these filters. :)

I ordered two of these since I have two units. Both units arrived. They had both been opened then resealed. The large hepa filers and the small charcoal filters were sealed but both of the UV light boxes had been opened. They both worked when I put them in but my old ones worked also.

Small, But Works For Me

I have been using this table top air cleaner in my office next to my computer...where I smoke. I only smoke in my office and have tried a few different air cleaners and honestly this has worked the best for this purpose. Kind of an expensive smokeless ashtray. My office is pretty small, just 10x10 and I keep the unit on my desk, but it does work. The room smells much better and I notice much less dust too. It's pricey for the size, this would never work in a larger room, but I didn't expect it to. Some people have commented on the noise, but I didn't find it that loud and after a few minutes I don't even hear it. I usually use it on the low setting, sometimes medium and it isn't all the different than having a small fan going. Again, it's pricey at $69.99 for what I am using it for, I think the price point should be closer to $50 personally and if it was I would have bumped my rating to 4 stars as long as you understand it's size limitations. I am pleased with how it works for me though and will continue using it.

Does make a difference.

I've run this air cleaner several times now. It does make a difference in the air in a room--even a room I don't consider to be particularly small. When I first smelled a room where it had been working, the room did smell less of things it had smelled like before. What did it smell like instead, I wondered? A hospital? A hotel? A new car? Finally, I decided that it smelled like plastic.After a few uses, the smell isn't quite so plasticky, but it still seems unnatural, somehow. I guess the amount you want to use a unit like this must depend somewhat on how badly you want to get something (like mold spores, maybe) out of your air.The air cleaner also may make air slightly cooler--it feels a bit like a cooling fan when you put your hand by the exhaust.The low and medium settings are fairly quiet; the high setting is noisier, but not shockingly so. The amount the sound disturbs you is probably proportional to, say, how much an air conditioner or dishwasher or something's noise bothers you when it runs.

Great addition to any room, perfect for cooking spaces

We used this over the last few weeks, and it has come in very handy if making foods with potent smells and to reduce or remove the smell of cigarette smoke our neighbors emit. It currently is plugged in near the hallway, so that the smells are absorbed, and, from what we can tell 'neutralized', as we smell them much less. Sometimes you don't necessarily want the whole house smelling like what you are cooking, and are concerned about dust, hair and other allergens (I am a former allergy shot recipient). This little machine, which is about the size of 1.5 hardback books does it's job well. The only criticism I have, is that there is a slight 'rattle' when it's on. This can be a bit distracting if you're sitting right next to it, but it seems to have lessened as we've used the air cleaner a few times. It's still there a little bit, despite tapping or shifting it, but it's no longer a noticable sound.

The secret to the Oreck ProShield® Plus's powerful performance is Oreck's exclusive Truman Cell® filtration system. Oreck air purifier

The air cleaner came to me dirty and without an instruction manual. I did find instructions on-line and I took the purifier apart and cleaned it. Now it is working pretty good.

Oreck - Not an Ionic Breeze

I use to own three Ionic Breezes and absolutely loved them. When I would clean the collector cells on them, I could always see the dirt and dust on the wet paper towel after wiping them down. Eventually, they all three wore out and I decided to replace them with the Oreck Air Purifier. After two weeks, I decided to take the cell out and clean it, and it was lie the think wasn't ever on. Hardly any dirt/dust/grime on the cell at all. The pre-screen had some dust collected in it, but I was absolutely disappointed. We kept the two Orecks running constantly for a year and we have never come close to the performace of the Ionic Breezes. We have gotten to the point where we decided that we are doing nothing but wasting electricity by having them runiing. Others may have better luck, but I have two, and both perform equally as bad. For what's it worth, If I had it to do over again, I would have found me two more Ionic breezes and bought them.
