A very good product

...and thank goodness still available!I bought three of these six years ago and two are still working fine. The third one has started to switch off after about an hour of being turned on. Since I have never opened and cleaned it, that could be the reason but in any case, I am going to buy a new one anyway.About people's fear of ozone, it is totally unfounded. I am a research scientist and I tested the very first prototype of such a machine in Switzerland in collaboration with its inventor. It was a beautifully built unit targeting the private home market after being used in laboratories and in hospitals. It made the inside of my home smell as fresh as the mountain air outside. I also slept better at night.I keep them on "low" all the time with the occasional boost of "high" if I cook with onion or garlic - or if I burn the toast.Now some 25 years later, I still surprise Realtors and visitors who come to my home and find it shared with two cats and a dog that they can see but not smell.I strongly recommend this technology and these particular units for their affordability and their reliability.I would have a problem living without such units.

I can defintely tell a difference when the ionizer has been plugged in and running as opposed to it being shut off. Especially when I come home from work and I turn it back on. The air in my apartment seems to become more sanitary in a matter of minutes. The only sound the module makes is that of a small fan. No filters to replace is a definite plus.

if you need air circulation - this will not work

This device does indeed ionize air - but the fan is not very powerful at all, pretty useless really; not worth the noise.though the air seems to flow when fan is off, so one doesn't really need it.generally i'm disappointed with it's power. it's not a strong ionized odor over 500 ft; more like 200 sqft.I wanted an ionizer - and i got it - but i realize that I need more, so i bit the bullet & bought a rabbit air.... thing is fantastic. totally worth the price.as for this one... not really worth the money.I needed something that actively circulates the air. this doesn't.I'm still giving it three stars as it does perform as advertised - but ultimately the fan is underpowered & it's just not suiting my needs.
