They work!

After reading lots of negative reviews on magnetic vent covers, I bought these BestAir Magnetic Vent Covers from a home improvement store by me. I was putting them on ceiling vents in my basement, so I was expecting them to fall off, and I would have to take them back. But, to my amazement, they did work! I even thought after air was blowing through the vents they would fall off, but they didn't. The best advice I can give is to cut them down so that they have maximum contact with the outside edge of the vent. They seem to need a lot of surface area contact in order for them to stay. But when they are cut correctly, they work perfectly. I rated them 4 stars instead of 5 because I have not owned them that long, and don't know how they perform over the long run.

the vent i tried to cover is very near the furnace unit so has an extreme amount of force... well, needless to say even with three layers of magnetic cover, it blew off big time. so, i decided if the air flow was that strong, removing the vent and inserting the magnetic liner inside and replacing back onto wall with its screw should be genius. WORKS... that air keeps it on like no bodys biz. Happy now... my room is no longer like a sauna while the rest of the house gets warmed up.

Works on ceiling vents

I bought these from my local Menards to cover the vent in my office at work because when they have the heat on, it heats my little office like a sauna. I placed these on my ceiling vent 3 weeks ago and they are still sticking, even against gravity! I just wish they came in bigger sizes to cover the whole vent. 2'x2' would be perfect.
