Exactly what I needed

After looking all over at various big-box stores for this filter, including where we bought the Dyson, I checked up here on Amazon and found one. Purchased this filter along with another accessory, and was exactly what we were looking for.

Not the same filter as original

The filter I received was absolutely not the same as the original Dyson filter. The yellow casing is the same, but the filter part is a much much MUCH lower grade sponge, not as dense, and is absolutely not the same type of filter. I highly doubt it is even a HEPA grade filter.
