WORKS like a charm

This item was recommended by a friend and it's awesome. I'm online buying another one for my office, that gets this awful secondary hand smoke smell from other places in the building. It really does detect the air and is constantly changing modes. There's a cool light function that shows you when it's in different stages, and it has a silent mode which is nice when watching TV and I want quiet. The design is nice and overall it's a home run, well worth the real money.

Easy to operate, beautifully designed

This was my first sanitizer. Was attracted to it because of its modern and easy to use design. It worked beautifully as described by Oregon Scientific though the quality and reliability of its power adapter needs to be vastly improved. The power adapter was shorted out only on my 2nd time of using the device.

I cannot yet speak to the longevity of this product nor to its efficacy in environments that have been bombarded with a sudden burst of chemicals. But it seems to work well.I also have SGBlue purifiers that similarly grab VOCs and mold. Due to their water content, SGBlues are not very portable, require more upkeep (frequent refilling that is), and make your air damper (I do best with air on the drier side). SGBlues are very powerful and cover a larger room. But I find I wish I had only bought one of those and more of these. That is a preliminary comparison, however. The real test of this one will be next winter when I have to deal with oils burning off the furnace. Then I will discover which rooms in the house give me the easiest breathing. One plus of the SGBlue is its incredibly low energy consumption. Another plus is that it is much quieter than any filter-based model out there including this one. So I guess there are pros and cons to both approaches.I like that if I were staying with a friend for a weekend, I could easily take this along. It's not that small, but it is a whole lot more portable than a water-based model (which one would also have to take apart to completely empty before departure).I am so thankful that there are some purifiers in the business now that are able to effectively address more than dusts and danders. I do wish that Oregon Scientific's compact travel/laptop model had an optional rechargeable battery to work off of (cigarette lighters and USB ports sound convenient but aren't always, especially if you are traveling with others in a situation where you do not feel comfortable requesting the car battery drain). The travel purifiers that do use batteries are ionic, and I found that after a while ions give me headaches and make me feel weird.
