The Smokeless Ashtray uses innovative Japanese technology patent design and style. It has a built-in fan, which literally draws in the smoke through two non-reusable carbon filtration system. It eliminates odors by passing all fumes and smoke through an active charcoal filter. Its unique design and compact powerful motor allow for maximum smoke to be consumed and is deadly quiet. The Smokeless Ashtray is designed to be easily disassemble and reassemble for quick and easy installation of batteries and filters located at the rim of the unit. This Ashtray requires Two 'C' batteries. ('UM-2' - 'C' Battery) Not Included. Is perfect for eliminating 2nd hand smoke and stench out of the fresh air, home furniture, office environment, clothes, pets, and non-smokers!

Four Stars with reservations!

I would love to find a really good "smokeless ashtray", but haven't found one yet! This product, however, comes the closest to being "good" so 4 stars. (I have tried 3-4 others.)Pros:* Quieter than most other ashtrays with fan & filters, especially after extended use, where other ashtrays have become noisy even with regular cleaning. But it can still be somewhat annoying.* Does seem to trap smoke fairly well and air exiting vents is much reduced in "smokey" smell, although not as much as I would like.* Battery life in this ashtray is about twice as long as other ashtrays I have used. ( I use NiMH rechargables, of course, anything else would be prohibitively expensive.)* It has extinguishing holes.Cons:* Cigarette / cigar rests are too short! Cigarette as it burns if you are not careful can fall out of rest slots onto table.* Design makes emptying it somewhat of a pain and can be messy.* Filters can be expensive! But, there is a solution to that. Buy some activated carbon impregnated thin fiber sheets (example Honeywell Replacement Activated Carbon Pre-filter (2 Pack) (2*38002) ), cut to size of the filter holders (they easily pop open) use them to sandwich some bulk course granulated activated (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Activated Filter Carbon works well for me. From these products and 2 min time for pair you can make about 100 filters for same price as half dozen of replacement filters and have a LOT of left over activated carbon for other deodorizing uses such as in refrigerator.

Tried them all and this is the best

Have been using smokeless ashtrays for years. Some work, some dont, some last some dont, some are junk, some are a pain in the ass to use. Gone through about 10 different models and this one is heads and tails above the rest.Pros: Quietest, filters last the longest, filters are cheap, filters catch the most smoke, batteries last for months of continous use, large capacity, nice appearance, the thing is made heavy duty and quality you can tell as soon as you feel it.Cons: The wife still yells at me for not picking up my socks.
