Very noisy, returned to vendor

I bought these and they made my air cleaner so noisy that you couldn't stand to be in the room when it was running. I tried a Honeywell HRF-H1 true hepa filter instead although the HRF-H1 filter isn't listed for this unit and it fits and performs just like the original filter did. The sound levels are back to normal with the HRF-H1 and it is a true hepa filter, not a "hepa type" filter.

I have two small holmes air purifiers. Holmes HAP242-UC and Holmes HAP412N-U The first one is one that can sit flat sucking air in from the top and blowing it out the front or it can stand up and suck air in through the front and blow the clean air out the top. The other one draws air in the back and blows it out the front and is a mini tower style.These filters while they are nearly the same size as the HAPF30DPDQ...this filter should have a clip on the side to hold it in place when my first purifier is in the upright position or the second one at any time. since it is always upright.What happens with this filter is that since there is no clip it does not fit snugly in the space provided so when the air purifier is in the upright position the filter slides down leaving a gap. This causes dirty air to not be filtered and on top of that makes a whistling noise.I can use it in my first air purifier in the flat position so that the filter sits flat on top of the unit. The only problem is that this filter has accordion pleats that are way closer together than the HAPF30DPDQ. It causes my air purifier to really struggle and I am afraid it if I use it I am going to burn up the machine.I can not use these filters and do not recommend buying them for an air purifier that requires a clip to hold it in place.
