It also fits Kenmore models 437.83259 amp;amp; 83259. This HEPA filter is 99.97% effective at removing particles as small as 0.3 microns from the air that passes through the filter. This filter measures approximately 10 1/4 H x 9 1/4 ID x 14 1/2 OD and the Surround Seal TM filter technology prevents dirty air from leaking around the filter. Filter with odor

I received my New 24000/24500 Honeywell Air Cleaner Replacement Filter. First off you most likly should know that this is NOT a original Honeywell Filter. It is Made by another Company. That is Ok But That should be Noted as such.So i put the replacement filter in my Honeywell Unit and turned it onThe filter Put out a real nasty Smell for the First day. It smelled like Melting Plastic and glue. I would guess this must be the smell from the bonding process they usedto put it together. Who knows.I have had this filter for about a Month And the other day I turned my Machine on high for about a Hour while i was cleaning some rugsAnd that strange Plastic smell returned.Funny you would use a Filter to clear the room of dust Hoping you would get a nice clean room AND NOT MAKING THE ROOM SMELL BAD IN THE PROCESS!

Yep, it's an air filter

I have severe allergies, so we run our air purifier all night, every night in the bedroom. It's a great deal for us to find this full size heppa filter for our machine. If we used the universal replacement filters, we'd need to use 3 of them. By the time we stack them, we get half rubber edging and half heppa filter. I much prefer the full size heppa filter. I think it does a more efficient job.

Filter paper has sour/acrid smell

As others have discovered, this is NOT a true Honeywell HEPA filter canister, only a knock-off. I ordered one, which worked well. Then, I ordered a second filter for the other barrel-style Honeywell. I immediately suffered an asthmatic reaction from the sour/acrid odor of the filter. Swapped with a known working filter canister - and, yes, the replacement was bad. Returned to the seller, who refunded quickly.I took another chance and re-ordered, with the thought that it was a one-off problem. No, the third filter was also emitting a sour/acrid smell. Seller refunded me, then suggested that my Honeywell unit was the culprit. That was the final straw.If possible, buy the Honeywell three-pack (expensive!) or shop eBay for inventory leftover 24500 filters.
