Stopped working after a year and a half

It worked great for the first year and then after a little over a year it started to smell like it was rubber or plastic burning. I did all of the regular maintenance and I called and customer service was very difficult to deal with. The customer service area diagnosed (over the phone?) that it was the circuit board (which only has a 1 year warranty) and not the motor (which has a 5 year warranty). They also were going to make me jump through a bunch of hoops and $$ to get the problem fixed, therefore I just gave up on it -

There are a lot better ones in this price range

OK, I liked all the sensors so I researched this thing. This is for people contemplating an air purifier but having a hard time finding the specs. Here goes, it's quiet but that's because the motor only blows a 106 CFM yet still kicks out 52 DB's. on high according to their site. That's actually noisy for the amount of air it's pushing. It says it's good for 861 SQ Ft on their site..... HARDLY. Well, so is my desktop model until I calculate cycles per hour! The CADR is a certification most reputable manufacturers want because it standardized measurements between models and makes it easier for the consumer to compare between them. Sort of like the EPA and buying a new car. Anyways, they suggest 6 clean air cycles per hour for your average household to be optimal. Now, if you smoke heavily, got asthma, live near the freeway, etc, you may need more, but this is "average" household.Anyways, I actually calculated a 138.86 CADR from the information I could piece together on-line. No wonder they're not looking to be CADR certified! The Square feet of this unit should be about 208 Sq Ft. For the price and the huge size of the unit, it's not even close to competing with Winix, Electrolux or anything else in this price range, though it's as big as them but performance wise, not even close. Well, maybe Rabbit Air, but that's another joke company pumping up numbers out of nowhere. Finally an Air Purifier that brings the "Goods"

I purchased this unit a month ago after an extensive search for the "perfect" purifier at a good price. I went through the " I don't know about this brand blues" or " look at the price " comparing the others makes and models.But I was sold when I called the company and talk to customer service after viewing the "you tube" presentation, they were honest and answered every question I had, I also like that I could return it no question ask if I didn't like it. The unit has more bang for the buck than any units I compared it to, and really their was no other unit that could match the combo of purification it has. This unit has 9 stages not 1 or 2 like the store brands. Well the unit arrived quick and setup was easy I was afraid it would be loud compared to what I heard at the stores but to my surprise it was perfect on "auto" and like all the reviewers are stating you will notice the difference in hours if not minutes this machine really works. I would buy again !
