Clears the cigar smoke OK

This is an older model of the Enviracaire line. I've owned this model for over 4 years. I purchased it to use in my office at work (the room measures 12 feet by 13 feet) and it serves me well. My office sits across from the owner of the company and he smokes cigars all day; I was coughing 24/7 before I purchased this to clean the air. Now I rarely cough.The low setting works best for me as the high fan setting is way too loud, the low fan speed is actually quite relaxing white noise, and if I had this in a bedroom I would have no problem falling asleep with it running. So far I have only replaced the outside charcoal pre-filter every 6 months or so, the HEPA filter looks pretty good still. (This one does not come with a permanent filter).Highly recommended.

BROKEN!

I purchased this item through amazon and received it promptly. However it only worked for about 30 minutes and then it just stopped. My guess is that this company sells reconditioned products! I contacted the compay that I purchased through Allergy Be Gone in Brooklyn NY. I was told to return the item, but when I went to return it they said that the return authorization number was expired (it was only good for 15 days and that is NOT stated on the return form. Very bad company to do buisness with. Now I am stuck with a broken $200.00 unit. Steer clear of this compny as no one there will take your phone calls!!!! Poor product, Poor company!!!

I must have viewed a 100 different air purifiers and between my main room and bedroom I wanted a solid, well made unit to keep my inside air clean so this is the unit I found that hits my mark! THERE are some great units out on the market but between price and effectivness the 50150 is a great bargin! Easy 5 star rating BUT a bit noisey!
