Detectable Negative Ions

I was skeptical of the claims of this unit's manufacture that it produced 2 million -ions/cm but bought the 2-units anyway. When I tested each unit with a AlphaLab Air Ion Counter (a precision and relatively expensive meter that tests either positive or negative ions), I was somewhat surprised that it did, indeed, "peg the needle" with the meter on its highest setting of 1,999,999 ions/cm! The meter was within a foot or so of the unit! There's the verifiable proof! End of debate.

Great for a small room

Works great in a small room, but for a room bigger than maybe 9'x9' you would want more. I didn't really know what to expect and bought it on a gamble. I am happy, but wish it would work better in a larger area.

It is not what is listed.

What I was sent is not what is listed. I was sent a Purely Products model which happened to be half the price this was when I bought it. The Purely Products representative said it is still listed so that anyone who bought it before and wanted another could buy one but they are not the same. This one was made in Korea not america like the Purely Products model is. While that may sound good it still is not the same product. I presumed that the Ionic one listed was using the Samsung silver nano Ion technology. It is not.The Purely Products representative swears that it is the same as the one I was shipped and made of silver but absolutely not one word about silver is mentioned about any of the models even at their site.Furthermore there seems to be a fraudulent "customer" named Robbie who wrote a review he duplicted about the Purely Products model and this one. Why would he test both models and come to the exact same writing of both? I think he is working for the Purely Products company and is dishonestly disguised as a customer. In fact there was a story on CNN Headline news about companies fraulently writing reviews on their own products on Amazon just a few months ago. I think "Robbie" was one of those.Having said that I do believe in the silver ion technology as marketed by Samsung in Korea. There are many negaitve ion generators, as it turns out, that are made of regular steel metal, and do not do the same thing and wear out prematurely. Silver was used by ancients to sanitize water and many silver water pitchers were used by ancient wealthy people for good reason and that is a scientific fact.I am sceptical if this Purely Products model they ship when you buy this, still listed many months after I clearly pointed out to amazon that it is not longer made, is the real silver ion technology. Why amazon still allows a clearly fraudulent listing to be used to sell a model they know is no longer made is beyond me.Then again I did notice the product seemed helpful for the two months it worked while I disputed the product as misrepresented under amazon's A to Z and got a refund. Then one day I went to unplug it and move it to another location and it shocked me real good and died. Since I did eventually get a refund I guess it was ok.My honest opinion is that a real silver negative ion generator is a nice thing to have and silver is a scientifically proven sanitizer. I wish Samsung made one. You should see what it does for their Samsung washing machines if you want something interesting to read.
