The BreatheSmart uses Alen's SmartSensor Technology to detect airborne allergens and pollutants, automatically adjusting airflow to protect you while saving energy and extending filter life. The BreatheSmart is both powerful and quiet, providing up to 1100 square feet of coverage with Alen's WhisperMax Technology, a specially designed fan and air chamber that maximizes clean air delivery while maintaining a peaceful environment.
The Alen BreatheSmart Air Purifier features an easy to replace HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) style filter that combines several layers of filter technology to purify and freshen the air in your home. Polluted air first passes through Alen's washable Pre-Filter to capture large particles, extending the life of the filter. In the second layer, air moves through a unique, electrostatically charged HEPA style material that attracts and captures up to 99% of dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores and other airborne pollutants. Versatile filter options are available with additional filtration layers to address bacteria, chemicals, heavy odor and smoke concerns. The BreatheSmart's ozone-safe Ionizer complements the HEPA style filter by charging particles in the air, causing them to stick together and become more easily captured.
Offering Alen's greatest coverage, the Alen BreatheSmart Air Purifier circulates all of the air within a 1100 square foot space more than twice every hour on its highest speed. It comes standard with the HEPA-Pure Filter, designed for easy replacement. We recommend regular filter replacements (at least every 6 to 8 months with normal use) to extend the life of your air purifier and maximize performance for pure, healthy air. The Alen BreatheSmart's Filter Life Timer indicates when it is time to replace the filter based on the operating fan speed and duration of use. The optimal filter replacement frequency may vary based on your environment and health concerns.

Technology that really works!

We recently acquired the newest air purifier made by Alen called the BreatheSmart. It has a number of Smart features that makes it effective and user friendly. In short it is wonderful. We have an open concept home, so it is kept in our living room which also opens into our kitchen and it has done a superb job covering the area which is probably a little over 950 Sq. Ft. The air is noticeably fresher and cleaner, and my wife's stuffy head seems to have been relieved. As an FYI, We also set up an additional Alen Air Purifier (T300) tower in the bedroom. I would definitely recommend getting the new Breathe Smart.Visually speaking, the Breathe Smart is a super clean modern looking device that does a decent job blending into any decor. It is easy to to set up and the controls are intuitive. Filter changing is about as easy as it gets and anyone can do it. My favorite feature is the air quality monitor that uses simple colored lights (blue=clean, white = so so, red=dirty) to let you know how dirty your air is. If you set it to automatic, it will increase the airflow when it senses that your air is dirty. Once clean, it will turn itself down. It really seems to work. For example, when someone sits on the couch, or when the AC kicks on the unit goes to red. In the morning when I come downstairs the unit has had all night to clean an empty room and it is on blue. I really like knowing when the air has been "cleaned." This takes all the guess work out of when to run the unit and when to turn it up or turn it down. This is really GREAT!We have owned other cheaper Air purifiers that we have purchased at big box stores, and are glad that we switched to the Alen units. Their machines have a lifetime warrantee and are significantly quieter than the ones we previously owned. Noise can become an issue. Lastly, this air cleaner has a filter change indicator light that tells you when you need to replace the filter cartridge. I do not know how long it will last, but our bedroom unit has been running on and off for more than 6 months now and we are only on bar two which is half way through the filter life, seems reasonable.

Great air purifier but it's quite large

This is my second Alen air purifier and I am a big fan of their products.This air purifier seems to work really well and cleans the air. My only issue with it is that it is quite large (no surprise since it's capable of cleaning something like 1,100 square feet). You might want to check the measurements before you buy it to make sure it's going to work for you. There are other great options from Alen if this is not sized right for you.
