With air purifiers their are typically 2 systems. One is where a fan pulls dirty air through a series of air filters and cleans the air. The other style is using Activated Oxygen or 03 which makes the air smell clean and nice but does not really remove the allergens from the air like the filter type of air purifiers. The great thing about this air purifier (and why its the best one for the money) is it is actually a perfect combination of both those systems.
So its up to you and it can clean the air in nearly any situation! This high end New Comfort CA3000 Air Purifier has 6 stages of purification, washable filters, 3 year warranty, works up to 3000 square feet leaving your air clean and fresh.
The 6 Stages of Filtration that keeps your air fresh and clean are:
1. HOSPITAL GRADE WASHABLE HEPA Filter. HEPA Filter is long Lasting WASHABLE filter. Perfect for removing allergens and dust from the air.
2. UV GERMICIDAL LIGHT - Tests have proven that all viruses are susceptible to UV light for complete eradication. UV light can destroy bacteria, viruss, odors and germ microbes.

I was never sure it was doing anything

I bought this little unit when we were moving into a home with previous mild mold issues, as it claimed to cover an area well over the size of our new home. I thought the price was good for a unit offering UV light and an ionizer. However, after one month of operation, I decided to send it back. First, there was very little air passing through the unit even when the fan was set on high, and I even noticed dust collecting on the front grill where clean air was to exit. It had no impact on cooking and other smells in the home, and I was concerned about the use the ozone function around our large family and pets. I did try the ozone function once in the basement when it developed a musty odor after rainfall, and it did clear the air quickly. It appears to me that the unit only meets its claims with the ozone function in operation, but unfortunately, it is not safe to use in this manner when the room is occupied. For a large family, it was not practical. In addition, the acrylic casement was impractical, as it meant that it could never be used in a bedroom at night, unless you wanted the room aglow in neon light due to the UV bulb. I did like the size and its quietness.

Would purchase again

After weeks of searching, reading reviews and comparing prices, I purchased the New Comfort 6 Stage Air Purifier. The reason for my decision was the fact that it covers up to 3000 square feet, the price was un-beatable, the seller offered free shipping, no need to buy replacement filters and the product got great reviews. We have 4 dogs and a bird. Normally I would have to dust and vacuum daily. After a week of use, I must say that I've noticed a big difference in the accumulation of dust and dander. I'm down to dusting once a week and my home smells fresher too! You can hear it running but honestly, it's like music to my ears because I know it's cleaning our air and creating a healthier environment. The directions stated to place it as high as you can. We have an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings so we set it just a couple feet from our ceiling on the top of a wall and it seems to be working great in that position. The only downside if any is the fact that they recommend not to use the ozone in an occupied room. So, I don't think we'll have a lot of opportunity to use the ozone.Maybe on days we put the bird out to sun and we're spending the day outdoors. I recommend this product and would purchase it again if ever in need of a second purifier. It's style is sharp too!

Sent me a unit with power supply broken from the mount!

Received this today - a day later than 2 day service, which I pay for prime. Unacceptable.Loose screw inside between power supply housing and clear case.Looked at the bottom, the power supply broke off from its connection to the low quality small/thin plastic mounting holes - box has lable that says Made in China - I guess that is expected with quality like this. One screw is completely stripped out and rolling around in the case and the other screw mount completely broke off.It was broke in shipment by being dropped or something or Great Vacs is sending this out without ever inspecting their own products.1 star is the minimum rating allowed, but there should be 0 stars for this product. It may be a good quality unit if it was in one piece but the shipping and/or quality control is worthless.Greatvacs.com who sells this unit has no phone number to speak to anyone - like many companies that sell on the internet, they give a fax and an email so they don't actually have to confront their customers. Sad, Sad, Sad.
