A little noisy, but efficient

I bought this model after our 3.5 year old daughter tested positive for every allergen imaginable. It's been in her room sitting on her dresser with the door closed running constantly for the past month and the difference it has made is extremely noticeable. Her allergies are severe so I didn't expect this to cure her, but coupled with the right medication it has definitely helped to eliminate dust & help her congestion. We live in an old home and our bedroom furniture is almost always covered in dust, but her room has stayed spotless ever since I began running it. The highest setting is a little noisy, but since the door is closed we don't notice it during the day & she doesn't seem to mind when she's taking a nap or going to sleep for the night. Installing the filter according to the instructions was a little confusing but I eventually figured it out, not a big deal. I knocked off a star only because we haven't had it for very long, so I'm not sure how well it will hold up or how long the filters will last before needing to be replaced. So far, so good though! I plan on buying another for our bedroom since my husband also has horrific allergies.

Bought this guy for the white noise aspect...not clear it filters fabulously, not my goal, does what i need and acts like a little cooling system as well, nice in summer.

If you are planning on using this for a medium sized room where you can put it off somewhere out of the way you will be fine. I have mine next to my TV about 7-9 ft away from our couch and table. At this distance it reaches the "pleasant white noise" level. if you want it right next to your head though, this is not the one for you. other than that, it seems to work just fine. Doesn't smell like cat in my apartment anymore.
