I've tried other universal filters but find the RPS is the best of all. Great price and quick delivery too.

carbon prefilter

Best price we found on carbon prefilters, thanks to Amazon. Since we were running low on the carbon filters for our air cleaner, we decided to order ahead. Haven't used this particular one yet, but it is exactly like the one we already had.

The whole point of these filters is to absorb or (adsorb as they call it), odor causing particles. They also act as a pre-filter to increase the longevity of your hepa filter. These are just fine for the latter, but they just don't have that much carbon. A really good carbon filter is around 1/4 inch thick, and should be rather stiff. These filters while measuring 16x48" come wadded up in a box just a little bigger than a hard cover book. I give them 4 stars because they are so affordable, but if you have an energy star odor sensing air purifier (such as a whirlpool or winix) expect that they will run longer when triggered to remove the particles.
