Top Notch Purifier

This is the second EcoQuest Air Purifier I have owned. My first unit stopped functioning after 5 years of constant use (while it is always disappointing when an expensive item stops working, it literally ran for 5 years straight, so I cannot complain - it did a wonderful job and even the best electronics will eventually break down). I waited 6-months, but eventually decided that instead of going through the process of trying to figure out what went wrong and pay someone to fix it - I would start fresh with a new unit. It arrived in a very timely manner and within an hour of running the unit in my 2000 sq ft home, I was very pleased to have that "fresh air" feeling throughout the house. I have both cats and dogs and my (old) house has windows that will not budge open. The EcoQuest Purifier is a wonderful unit that keeps dander and dust levels down and makes my home smell fresh and clean. If this unit konks out in a few years... I will buy yet another. They are worth the money.

Fraud alert!!!

This item was shipped under the guise of a well known brand. It did not do anything but blow air .when I contacted the seller I was given a 3 month run around . I then contacted the manufacturer who asked me to give them the serial # and model # . I was told that the model number did not exist and the serial number was several digits longer than any units they sold.and that fake serial numbers had been placed on the machine . This whole process has disgusted me ! I thought amazon was the number one trusted website ? Because of the fraud I had to contact the local authorities .my security was at risk and my identity as well .the seller had all of my information including address ,phone number,email and account information and continued with harassing phone calls for weeks to follow after filing a complaint with amazon . While initially trying to resolve the issue with the seller (amazon requires you to do so before they will intervene) only After speaking to amazon and discussing the level of fraud and identity theft concerns did Amazon did offer a 50 dollar credit to my account which has to this day not been applied . It cost me a discouraging amount of money and time to follow up on this matter all while having my security compromised . Amazon told me they do not screen sellers to ensure our safety . Recently Dr Oz had a segment on his show about third party sellers on amazon and Amazon not screening or monitoring third party sellers claiming they are selling products he endorses. I guess you have to be a celebrity to get any attention or help .Use extreme caution when dealing with third party sellers until Amazon puts some policies in place to protect their consumers . While I have had huge success with many third party sellers . This particular one was extremely costly and criminal . I am hoping that it is an exceptional case .for all of our security sake .
